Out of the 10 polished diamonds in the world, 9 are processed in India. Out of those 9, 8 are said to be of smaller lot. Indian Diamond Industry right now, earns maximum from the small goods. Still, a misconception prevails that smaller goods do not require any technological aid. Also, it is considered to be an infrastructural cost rather than investment.
